He received a degree from the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC), Spain. His work has been shown at more than 60 film screenings and festivals around the world, including three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). He participated in the 3rd FICM with his short documentary film Seguir siendo (2005). He received a Special Mention at the 6th FICM for his first feature length documentary El ciruelo (2008), co-directed with Carlos F. Rossini. His second feature length documentary, El alcalde (2012), also co-directed with Rossini and with Diego Enrique Osorno, participated in the 10th FICM and won, among other awards, the José Rovirosa Award 2012 of the UNAM Film Archives for Best Mexican Documentary; Best Iberoamerican Documentary at the 53rdCartagena International Film Festival (FICCI, in Spanish), Colombia; and Best Mexican Documentary at the 1st Baja International Film Festival (BIFF), Los Cabos, México.
