He studied law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has participated in four editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). At the 4th FICM his short documentary Venus (2006) won a Special Mention, and was also presented at the 6th FICM. At the 7th FICM he received a Special Mention for Flores en el desierto (2009). His film Canícula (2011), which was part of the Official Selection of the Documentary Feature Film section at the 9th FICM, participated in more than 20 film showings and festivals around the world. He won the FIPRESCI critics’ award at the 14th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, the SIGNIS award at the 24th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival; and the Young Jury Award at the 1st Riviera Maya Film Festival (RMFF), among other prizes.
