He got his B.A. and Masters degrees in cinematography at the Łódź Film School in Poland. His work has traveled in numerous festivals around the world: he participated in the 26th Torino Film Festival (TFF) in Italy with his short documentary film Dialogue about an imageWaterdrop (2010), co-directed with Jan Pawel Trzaska, was presented at the 35th Gdynia Film Festival, Poland, and at the Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles, California. With his medium-length documentary film El sueño de San Juan / Dream of San Juan (2012), also co-directed by Jan Pawel Trzaska, he participated in the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), in the 52nd Krakow Film Festival, Poland, and in the 3rd Puebla International Film Festival (FIC Puebla). In 2013 he premiered, at the 13th T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland, his medium-length film Siamese, which was also selected by the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) and by the Gdynia Film Festival, where it received a Mention from the jury. His feature film debut Maquinaria Panamericana (2016) premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) and so far it has participated in the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), where it won the FIPRESCI Award and the Mezcal Award for Best Mexican Film; in the Merida and Yucatan International Film Festival (FICMY), where it won the Award for Best Film from the Latin American debut section; and in the Durango Mexican Film Festival, where it won the Award for Best Feature Film, the Critics Award, the Young Jury Award and the Centro Buñuel Calanda Award. Maquinaria Panamericana’s international tour includes the Miami International Film Festival (MIFF), the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and the Kino Pavasaris in Lithuania, among others. He is currently writing his second feature film.
