He has worked on various films with director Amat Escalante: in the direct sound of the short fiction film Amarrados (2002), presented in the Mantarraya Special Program at the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); as camera assistant and casting director of Amat’s first feature film, Sangre (2005), which premiered at the 3rd FICM and won the FIPRESCI Critics Award at the 58th Cannes Film Festival; and as casting director of the feature film Heli (2013), which won the Best Director award at the 66th Cannes Film Festival and was presented at the 11th FICM. He participated in the 6th FICM as director of his short film Crónica breve de la filmación de Sangre (2007), and the 9th FICM with his short film Hill Street (2010). The last film also participated in other festivals, including the 32nd International Festival of New Latin American Film, Havana, Cuba. He participated with his short film, La vida cotidiana de un observador (2012), in the 12th New Horizons International Film Festival, Poland. His feature-length documentary Heli, detrás de las cámaras (2013) participated in the 14th Film Festival of Lima, Peru, and the 4th Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest, Romania.
