He studied sound engineering at the International School of Film and Television (EICTV, in Spanish) of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. He presented his work at three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). In the 3rd and 8th editions of FICM he presented Los zapatos de Zapata (2000), a documentary that won more than 10 awards throughout the world, including, the Main Award at the 48th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival and the Grand Prize at the 43rd Bilbao International Festival of Documentary and Short Films – Zinebi. He participated in the 7th FICM with Havanyork (2008), winner, among other awards, of the Best Documentary at the 7th Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF).
